The letterforms tell their own tale. The words irrelevant to the shape and form .
New Calligraphics for the masses. The Work of Scriptures .
Peace & Praise Be. Through the marks of ink on paper man has amassed himself a wealth of knowledge and power. The greatest stories ever told began with a word — a word then transcribed onto parchment with a swell of ink that would in time colour our societies. I've looked to these great narratives as inspirations for my calligraphic pursuits. I wish to recount these epics as they were when first told in their archaic tongues. Through Image + The Written Word I hope to bring you a sense of what once was. This is the story of Kadija, this is the story of Mary, this is the story of You.

Fresh for all seasons – I offer to you here a glimpse of what is to come. We recently debuted G13's preview collection at The Wynn suites in Vegas. The reception was overwhelmingly positive. We received praise from across all spectrums; from the streets to the beach – the response was truly humbling. Take a look at the campaign we shot for a special edition of The Royal entitled: Royal Select.

wolfpack
With a Reverence for the Death of Prey .
一匹狼 / The Lone Wolf Kills only for Sustenance .
I bring to you the Visual Folklore of Amaterasu / Origin of all that is Mother and Good to us .
omulus & Remus were mothered by the Capitoline Wolf, founded Rome and with it ushered in the age of Modernity. Emperor Hirohito was said to be a direct descendent of the wolf goddess Amaterasu (天照) and thus held Divine Providence over the nation of Japan. From Time Immemorial we have looked at the WOLF with reverence and fear; ever aware of it's cunning and strength. I've chosen to explore here the visual narrative of the wolf as deity + myth. Custom calligraphics + patterns of Japanese textiles adorn the silhouettes of these majestic figures. This series of images was completed as work for G13 : a new Organic Streetwear brand soon to make it's debut. With Tsumi Ink stained hands, I present to you this new visual myth.
Also developed for this project were 2 custom Kanji Logotypes. The process was as intriguing as the characters themselves. The representational nature of these Ideograms greatly lends itself to typographic interpretation. I've professed my affinity for Japanese Kana as they now hold meaning and connotation in my mind. This was defintely My Type of Hypes. I hope y'all can feel me on the accompanying image. Selection is Key. It's such a visceral image (blood on fangs & tension in the ranks) and for me conjures up thoughts of Tengu 天狗 + Oni 鬼. Enjoy the Glory of it All.

The custom logotype below reads OKAMI (wolf) and represents my initial foray into Kana Type Design. I believe that the impact of this ideogram can be universal / cross-cultural and appreciated from multiple perspective. Consider this an accent to the following series pieces.
Wolves shall not kill Wolves .
There is no longer honor amongst thieves, nor is there honor amongst gods .
I hope we've come to an Understanding .

Newly christened KDU Brethren, Black Mandrews aka Silky Black Gold has rendered a deadly offering. We have here a formidable translation of the WLVZ graphic series, interpreted into full motion. There is something otherworldly about the piece; something sublime yet with a lingering sense of violent intent. Wolvesbreath on the tongue and in the air.
